2024 NCAA Super Regional Odds: Betting lines released for Virginia vs. Kansas State to advance to College World Series

Virginia Baseball

Just 16 teams remain in the race to win a national championship in baseball, with the Super Regionals getting underway on Friday. Charlottesville will play host to one of the best, with Kansas State and Virginia squaring off for a spot in the College World Series.

Virginia was a national seed after a great season, being No. 12 overall. They have an opportunity to host due to Kansas State coming out of the Fayetteville Regional. A bit of an upset to not see Arkansas in this scenario but the Wildcats won three consecutive games to earn the right to advance.

Unfortunately, they are also underdogs heading into the Best of 3 series.

Virginia is a heavy favorite heading into the matchup per FanDuel. Playing at home certainly plays a factor, with all three games behind played in front of the Cavalier faithful. Kansas State has spent the entire NCAA Tournament as underdogs though and has just found a way to win.

Virginia -265
Kansas State +200

Looking at the national championship odds, neither team finds itself inside the top five. Virginia’s odds are at +1400 and Kansas State is +5000, tied for the second worst of the 16 teams remaining.

Kansas State, Virginia just two wins away from College World Series

This year’s run for Kansas State has been a historic one, making the tournament field for just the sixth time ever. Only twice have they advanced out of a regional and never has an appearance in Omaha occurred for the Wildcats. Head coach Pete Hughes is hoping this team can be remembered in Manhattan forever.

As for Virginia, they have been a frequent College World Series participant since the program’s first-ever appearance in 2009. Getting past Kansas State would make it CWS No. 7, including a run last year. A national championship banner even hangs at Davenport Field at Disharoon Park after winning it all in 2015.

Game 1 of the Super Regional will take place on Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Saturday’s Game 2 will be at 3 p.m., opting for an afternoon start time. If a final and decisive Game 3 is required, 3 p.m. will also be when the two teams take the field in Charlottesville.

All three games will be broadcast on ESPNU, with Kansas State and Virginia fans having a consistent network to watch.
