Eleven injured in northern Israel after Hezbollah drone attack

Eleven people were injured in a drone attack from Lebanon on northern Israel on Wednesday, according to rescue organization Magen David Adom.

One of them suffered serious injuries, three others moderate injuries and the rest light injuries, said the rescue group's leader Eli Bin on Channel 12 television.

The drone, which was loaded with explosives, reportedly exploded in the village of Hurfesh without having triggered an air alarm.

The Israeli army confirmed the drone attack. It is investigating why there was no air alert.

The Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack.

Since the beginning of the Gaza war, there have been daily military confrontations with the pro-Iranian Hezbollah and other groups in the border region. There have been casualties on both sides.

The mutual shelling has caused severe destruction in villages on both sides of the border and most recently caused major forest and bush fires in Israel. Around 150,000 people have been evacuated or left the combat zone.
