Rapper C.Gambino’s gun murder sparks police witness hunt

Rapper C.Gambino’s gun murder has sparked a police hunt for a witness who saw the car carrying his assassins.

Sweden’s most popular hip-hop star, 26, renowned for wearing a black leather mask, was caught in a hail of bullets after he parked his car in a garage in Gothenburg on Tuesday (04.06.24) night.

He was rushed to hospital, but died from his wounds shortly afterwards.

Police said they received a call about a shooting near Selma Lagerlöf's Square in the Hisingen area of the city at 10.42pm, with officer Thomas Fuxborg saying: “(C.Gambino) lived here in the area and when he came to park his car, (the assassins) waiting for him attacked him.”

Authorities are said to have found seven bullet marks on a glass door of the parking garage where Gambino was mowed down.

In an appeal for anyone with information about Gambino’s murder to come forward with information, police spokesperson Jens Andersson said: “(A) witness saw a car that is seen in connection with what happened. We are investigating whether it is true.”

Another spokesperson, Annika Laag, added: “We are working to collect witness information from as many (locals) as we can and continue to work on the technical investigation.”

It is understood police raided an address in Gothenburg after Gambino’s shooting.

Police added several people have been brought in for questioning, but there are currently no named suspects.

Born Karar Ali Salem Ramadan, the musician is being honoured by fans online and by one who placed a yellow rose in front of the door of his home in tribute.

They have filled social media with comments including he was a “hero”, whose death has left them “heartbroken” and “lonely”.
