Jack Wilshere has now made an indirect claim about Jude Bellingham and £62m Man City star

Jack Wilshere has suggested that Jude Bellingham is better than one particular Manchester City player.

In his debut season at Real Madrid, the midfielder won the La Liga title and the Champions League, scoring 23 goals and delivering 13 assists in 42 games across all competitions along the way.

Even though the Citizens followed up their Treble-winning season by winning their sixth Premier League title in seven years as well as the UEFA SuperCup and the FIFA Club World Cup, one former top-flight midfielder has ranked Bellingham above one figure in City’s squad who has played a major part in their recent success.

In a recent video shared on the GOAL TikTok channel, Wilshere was asked to stay quiet until he heard the name of who he feels is the best midfield player in the world right now.

After Rodri was named among several other midfielders, Wilshere remained quiet and then broke his silence after Bellingham’s name came up right after the Spaniard.

Rodri vs Bellingham

In the recent Premier League campaign, Rodri scored eight goals and delivered nine assists in 34 games, whereas Bellingham found the back of the net 19 times and supplied six assists in 28 La Liga appearances.

Despite that, the £62m City star still managed to end the campaign with more key passes than the Englishman (49 vs 48).

He also has a higher rate of shot-creating actions made per 90 minutes (4.82 vs 3.85) and goal-creating actions per 90 minutes (0.71 vs 0.51) than the 20-year-old.

Then from a defensive point of view, Rodri ended his latest top-flight campaign with a higher combined total of tackles and interceptions (96 vs 63) than Bellingham.

While the duo have undoubtedly had successful seasons with their respective sides, we feel that not many City supporters would agree with Wilshere in suggesting that Bellingham is a better midfielder than Rodri.
