Ice Spice Announces 'Y2K' Album Release Date and World Tour

Ice Spice has finally announced her debut album, along with a world tour set to kick off this summer.

The Grammy-nominated rapper, 24, has already made an impression in the music industry before ever releasing an album, and on Wednesday, June 5, she announced a release date for her upcoming LP, "Y2K."

"HIIIII >.< Y2K ☆ THE ALBUM WILL BE DROPPING JULY 26TH !!!!," the "Princess Diana" rapper wrote on Instagram. She made the announcement alongside a photo of the album's cover art, which was shot by photographer David LaChapelle and shows the Bronx native leaning on a wall outside a recreation of a New York City subway entrance labeled with the letters "I-C-E" representing train lines.

The tour kicks off in Roskilde, Denmark, and will travel through Europe before returning to North America. By: MEGA

Ahead of the album's release, Ice Spice also announced she is embarking on a world tour, which will kick off on July 4 in Roskilde, Denmark. The tour will travel to Europe and the U.K. before returning to North America.

Tickets will be available to the general public starting Friday, June 7, at 10 a.m.

"Y2K" is a reference to her birthday, Jan. 1, 2000, and she has hinted at it for several months. In November, she shared a photo of her tattoo captioned “Y2K! ?/?/24,” and in January, she revealed the album was nearly complete.

“I have a crazy collaboration that just got locked in, like, two days ago,” the "Barbie World" rapper said at the time.

The album will also have at least one "very authentic Y2K sample" after she was cleared to sample Sean Paul’s 2002 hit "Gimme the Light," produced by RIOTUSA, according to a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

“You know Sean Paul, he’s legendary, and that song alone, his ‘Gimme the Light,’ is so iconic, I was so nervous to sample it,” Ice Spice said. "We really wanted to have a very authentic Y2K sample."
