Luke Combs’ Heartfelt Note to ‘My Boys’ Leaves Fans in a Puddle of Tears: ‘I’m Not Crying, Ur Crying’

Luke Combs‘ vulnerability on social media has his fans feeling very emotional after he shared a personal note he wrote to his children. While dedicating his new song “The Man He Sees in Me” to his two sons, Tex and Beau, the country singer made some big promises as a father.

“To my boys,” he begins in a hand-written note shared to social media. “First and foremost I will always love you, no matter what. With this song I want you to know that even though I’m not perfect, I try my hardest everyday to be the best version of myself for you both.”

“I will make mistakes along the way and some days you’ll be sick of your old man I’m sure but dang we’ll have some fun too,” he continues. “I can’t wait to see what you both turn out to be like and I hope someday down the road the road I get to watch you and your kids do the same. Love, Dad.”

Fans React to Luke Combs’ Note to His Sons

Combs has been pouring his heart out in his music lately with songs about being a father. Many of his fans have latched onto his lyrics, so it’s no surprise they were in their feelings with this message.

“I’m not crying, ur crying,” one writes.

Another shares, “Thanks for the tears once again. As my first daughter graduated kindergarten today.”

“I have goosebumps,” one fan chimes in.

“Ok I’m crying,” another types.

Even Combs’ wife Nicole commented with several teary-eyed smiling emojis.

Who Are Luke Combs’ Kids?

Combs and his wife are parents to two sons. Tex Lawrence was born on Father’s Day on June 19, 2022. It didn’t take long for the couple to become members of the two-under-two club as Beau Lee arrived on Aug. 15, 2023.

It’s rare for the Combs family to share photos of their sons on social media, as they are protecting their boys’ privacy. However, the “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” hitmaker has shared a photo or two without showing their faces.

Will Luke Combs’ Next Album Be Full of Dad Songs?

Combs has certainly been in his dad era when it comes to his songwriting.

“Obviously, that’s kind of where my headspace is,” the singer revealed to Taste of Country Nights host Evan Paul. “It’s just kind of hard to write or focus on anything else other than that. That’s what my world is right now.”

In addition to “The Man He Sees in Me” which arrives on Friday, June 7, the singer has teased “Remember Him That Way,” “Plant a Seed,” “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” and “Huntin’ by Yourself” — all of which are dad songs.

During his visit with Taste of Country, he admitted that his new album has not fully developed yet. However, that didn’t stop him from pondering if his next project will be about fatherhood. He responded fairly positively to a fans suggestion to do so on social media.

“Honestly not a bad idea…” he typed in the caption.
