The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine destroyed the Russian tugboat Saturn in Crimea on June 6. The intelligence officers showed the video.
“On June 6, a special unit of the 9th Department of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine off the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea successfully struck a Russian raid tugboat of the Project 498 Saturn or Protey,” the statement says.
As a result of the operation in the waters of Lake Panske, another Russian vessel was destroyed.
“The destructive fire damage was inflicted after a successful breakthrough of the Russian line of defensive barriers in the Black Sea,” the intelligence officers note.
Situation in Crimea
Ukrainian special services have been constantly conducting operations to reduce the Russian naval grouping, which has been involved in the war against Ukraine since the beginning of the large-scale invasion in February 2022.
On the night of June 6, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine conducted another special operation in Crimea. DIU representative Andrii Yusov said earlier that another Russian vessel was destroyed that night in the Black Sea in occupied Crimea. It was the work of the DIU's special forces.
