A father has teamed up with his two sons to create a new mobility centre in the heart of their community.
Dipak Patel has combined his family business focusing on addressing mobility issues with his son Amish’s chemist, as well as another mobility business for the new project.
Longfield Mobility Centre in Station Road, Longfield brings together three healthcare businesses, including Hodgson Pharmacy, Community Lifeline, a family-run business focused on helping those with mobility and disability issues lead fulfilling and independent lives, and Mobility2you, an equipment supplier for the sector.
Founder of Community Lifeline Mr Patel said: “Through our work at Community Lifeline and my son’s role at the local pharmacy, we are very much part of our local neighbourhood.
“Talking to residents and their carers, we soon realised that there was a lack of accessibility to a quality range of mobility aids and equipment within the local vicinity.
“This distance is made even more challenging for those with mobility issues who may not drive or have easy access to transport.
“That’s why we decided to combine our healthcare expertise and knowledge, along with the support of Mobility2you, to launch a mobility centre in Longfield.
The centre opens on June 12 with a team of health care experts on hand to chat with visitors and showcase the latest innovations in mobility equipment and aids.
A percentage of all sales made on the day will go to ellenor, a specialist palliative care provider in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, which is the centre’s chosen charity for 2024.
