Over 40 firefights today: General Staff on frontline situation

As of today, June 6, 44 combat engagements have taken place on the frontline since the beginning of the day. The enemy has tried to improve its positions in the Pokrovsk direction 20 times, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Frontline situation

In the Kupiansk direction, combat actions continue in the vicinity of Petropavlivske.

In the Lyman direction, Russians became more active in the areas of Nevske and Serenrianske Forestry. The fighting is ongoing.

Fighting is taking place in the area of Verkhniokamianske in the Siversk direction. This is the third attack, the other two were repelled.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russians are active in the area of Ivanivske.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy has tried to improve its positions 20 times. Fighting continues in the areas of Yevhenivka, Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Yasnoborodivka and Novopokrovske.

Two Russian attacks were repelled in the Orikhiv direction.

"The situation on the rest of the directions remains unchanged," the General Staff added.

Russia's offensive

According to analysts of the Institute for the Study of War, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are preventing the enemy from advancing in the Kharkiv region. In particular, counterattacks have intensified in the region. Meanwhile, the Russians are pressing near Kupiansk, Chasiv Yar, and west of Avdiivka.

The General Staff reported that another 1,300 Russian terrorists were eliminated over the past day. In total, Russia's manpower in the war is about 515 thousand soldiers.
