Luis Palma opens up on class Celtic moment with Honduran international teammate

The end of this season is kind of an unusual one for the Celtic fans considering the number of internationals that are scheduled over the summer.

With Scotland taking part in the Euros and the Republic of Ireland playing this week as well, there is still plenty of football scheduled to pique the Celtic fans’ interest over the next few weeks.

On Friday night we have Scotland taking on Finland where four of Celtic’s Scottish contingent are likely to play some part in the game.

And we also have Luis Palma on duty with Honduras. The Celtic winger will take part in his country’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers over the next few days and as he met up with his teammates, Palma delivered a present to one that left him blown away.

Palma shares classy Celtic moment

Honduran, Francisco Martinez, looks set to make his full international debut on Friday at the age of 31 and to congratulate him, Palma gave him a Celtic top as a souvenir of the occasion.

Palma was asked about this at his most recent press conference and it is clear he has a lot of love and respect for his new international teammate.

Palma said [Radio America], “I had a conversation with him at length. From the moment he started to talk about his humility, personal things, about how he was doing at Marathon.

“It’s good that he’s here, I told him to enjoy the moment with responsibility, and when it’s his turn to play he’ll show why he’s here.”

The Celtic winger is looking to get Honduras’ World Cup qualifying campaign off to a flying start as he faces Cuba in the early hours of tomorrow morning and then Bermuda next week.

The Honduran will miss the friendly against El Salvador after Celtic requested he be allowed to go on vacation so that the player gets a full summer’s rest.

Hopefully, Palma will return to Paradise rested and invigorated so that he can get back to the player he was in the first half of last season to help Brendan Rodgers’ assault on the Champions League and defend the Scottish Premiership title.
