Daniel Suárez is ready to sign a new contract with Trackhouse Racing after being with the team for nearly four full seasons. While speaking to Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports, Suárez expressed how much he has enjoyed his time with Trackhouse.

“I feel like I found a home,” Suárez said. “That’s why I wouldn’t trade Trackhouse for anything else. I’ve been in top organizations in the past and if you don’t have a voice, it’s very difficult to be successful. I think I have that at Trackhouse.

“We’re still a young team. I feel like the future is very bright for the 99 team and for Trackhouse.”

After missing the playoffs last year, Suárez clinched a spot in the postseason this season after winning the race in Atlanta in February. Before joining Trackhouse Racing in 2021, Suárez competed for Joe Gibbs Racing (2017-2018), Stewart-Haas Racing (2019) and Gaunt Brothers Racing (2020). He has won two Cup Series races in his career and both came under Trackhouse.

Suárez also told Pockrass he was hoping to have a strong career with Joe Gibbs Racing. “Unfortunately, it wasn’t in the cards for me,” he said. “After that, I was bouncing from team to team until now I finally found the place where they not just believe in me, but also my voice has a weight and I’m able to make adjustments in my team based on what I see and feel.”

Daniel Suárez is officially a U.S. citizen

Along with winning his second Cup Series race this year, Suárez officially became a U.S. citizen. In May, the 32-year-old who grew up in Mexico announced he passed his U.S. citizenship exam.

“Something I did notice was that most people there were going with their families,” Suárez said to Pockrass at the time. “Like it was a big deal. For example, if I was going to do this deal, my wife was going to be there or my son or somebody because when I left the place, I was very excited because I passed and everything, I didn’t have anyone to hug. And all the rest of the people, their families were waiting outside so I thought it was pretty neat, you know, that a lot of the other people that were there they were all super excited and very happy.”
