France wants to form a French brigade for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This involves the training of 4500 Ukrainian military personnel, states President of France Emmanuel Macron in an interview with French media.

"The task is to train 4,500 Ukrainian soldiers, equip them, teach them to defend their land, and form a French brigade," explained the President of France.

Macron also emphasized that there is currently no question of French military presence in Ukraine.

"The President of Ukraine (Volodymyr Zelenskyy, - ed.), his Minister of Defense (Rustem Umerov, - ed.) called on all allies to train soldiers faster... We must ask ourselves if this is a factor of escalation. The answer is no," he said.

In February of this year, the President of France stated that France is considering sending Western troops to Ukraine.

This initiative has been criticized by several EU countries, and later Macron proposed creating a coalition of military instructors from the EU in Ukraine.
