Tamil Nadu CM Stalin to hold key meeting with winning MPs in the state

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 7 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin is going to hold a meeting with all the MPs who have emerged victorious in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the state.

The meeting will also include winning MPs from the INDIA bloc.

The 22 winning MPs from DMK, as well as all other party alliance candidates from Congress, VCK, IUML, CPI(M), CPI, MDMK, KMDK, and MNM, will also attend the meeting.

Tamil Nadu ministers including Ma. Subramanian, T. M. Anbarasan, R. Gandhi, Thangam Thennarasu, KKSSR Ramachandran and all others will also attend the meeting.

The DMK MLAs will also participate in the meeting.

INDIA alliance leaders including CPIM State Secretary K Balachandran, CPI State Secretary Mutharasan, and TN AAP President Vasigaran will also be a part of this crucial meet.

On Wednesday, MK Stalin met Telugu Desam President Chandrababu Naidu at the Delhi Airport. They met as they were leaving for their home states after attending the meetings of their respective alliances held in Delhi.

After the meeting, in a post on social media platform X, Stalin said that he was confident that Naidu would play a crucial role in the Union Government, advocating for the protection of the rights of the southern states.

Notably, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) data, the DMK won 22 out of the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu while the BJP was left with nil.

The seat position of the DMK allies as per the ECI data are Congress (9), Communist Party of India (2), Communist Party of India - Marxist (2), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (2), Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Indian Union Muslim League one each.

The counting of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was held on Tuesday. According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 240 seats, much lower than its 2019 tally of 303. The Congress, on the other hand, registered a strong growth, winning 99 seats. The INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark, posing stiff competition, and defying all predictions. (ANI)
