Russian threats to France over the possibility of sending French instructors to Ukraine serve as another argument in favor of our courage, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his address to the National Assembly of France.

"When direct threats were made against France from the Russian Federation, it became yet another argument in favor of our bravery, in favor of the fact that no evil in the world dared to oppose France and declare the French 'military targets'," the president said.

Backstory

French President Emmanuel Macron was the first Western leader to propose sending military personnel to Ukraine. This statement caused concern among his colleagues, but some supported this move.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi recently mentioned that Paris might send military instructors to help train Ukrainian soldiers. Later, France clarified that this issue is currently under discussion and no final decision has been made yet.

Commenting on this information, the press secretary of the Russian embassy in France, Alexander Makogonov, said that instructors who train the Ukrainian Defense Forces "to kill Russians" will become legitimate targets for the Russian army.
