Russia will have the opportunity to take part in a conference on the results of the Ukraine peace summit, according to Swiss President Viola Amherd.

Amherd says the peace summit is only an opening to further negotiations.

“It is clear to us that we will not sign a peace agreement at the end of the conference,” she said.

Both sides need to sit at the negotiating table to conclude peace, she said. She also added that Russia would be able to take part in a conference on the results of the peace summit.

The meeting will take place on June 15-16 in Switzerland. The agenda will include the Ukrainian peace formula, which should help end the war on fair terms. As of now, more than a hundred countries and international organizations have confirmed their participation in the event.

Earlier, China announced it would not participate in the peace summit because Russia was not invited. However, there were consultations with Beijing at the level of deputy foreign ministers to discuss the upcoming conference.
