Report: Chelsea now want to sign another ‘amazing’ Man City star after getting Cole Palmer last year

Chelsea reportedly have an interest in signing one of Manchester City’s star players this summer.

The West London club have a reputation for signing players from the Citizens, as they bought Raheem Sterling in the 2022 summer transfer window and then followed that up by signing Cole Palmer last summer.

In two seasons with Chelsea, Sterling has scored 19 goals and supplied 12 assists in 81 appearances across all competitions.

However, throughout his debut season with them, Palmer found the back of the net 25 times and delivered 15 assists in 45 games.

Now that the next summer transfer window is close to opening, some behind-the-scenes details have come to light regarding yet another City star the Stamford Bridge outfit have their eyes on.

Chelsea eyeing transfer swoop for Julian Alvarez

According to a recent report from TyC Sports, Chelsea, as well as Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, are interested in signing Julian Alvarez.

The report also adds that the Argentine’s main aim is to stay at the Etihad Stadium, although if he were to not get the regular minutes he’s after, a move away could be considered.

Alvarez is very important for City

With two seasons now under his belt at the Manchester club, Alvarez has scored 36 goals and provided 18 assists in 103 appearances across all competitions, winning numerous trophies in the process.

Looking back over his most recent season in Pep Guardiola’s side, only three outfield players racked up more minutes in the Premier League than the 24-year-old, who racked up 11 goals and eight assists across 36 league games.

After seeing the attacker score two goals in City’s 3-1 Premier League win over Burnley at the Etihad earlier this season, Guardiola described Alvarez as an “amazing” player

Taking all of that into account, it’s clear that the World Cup winner is an important figure for City, who we feel should not consider selling, especially to another Premier League club or European rival.
