Poland to hold National Security Council meeting near border with Belarus - Media

The Polish government has decided to hold a National Security Council meeting in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, which borders Belarus, reports Polsat News.

According to the source, the National Security Council meeting convened by Polish President Andrzej Duda will take place in the city of Białystok. The city is located approximately 50 kilometers from the border with Belarus.

It is also planned that officials will visit the border with Belarus.

However, journalists clarified that the meeting will be classified - it will be closed to the public.

Situation at the border is complex

Provocations involving migrants have been occurring at the Poland-Belarus border for the past few months.

Recently, it became known that during an illegal attempt to cross the border by Belarusian migrants, one of the Polish soldiers sustained serious stab wounds. He died in the hospital.

Against this backdrop, Polish President Andrzej Duda has decided to convene a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the situation at the border. It will take place on Monday, June 10th.
