‘No Head!’: California Man Admits To Beheading Grandma Shortly After Leaving Prison

A California man admitted to beheading his grandmother and dumping the body part near a creek, days after getting out of prison, according to a report.

Luis Aroyo-Lopez, 24, pleaded guilty Tuesday to the Nov. 2 murder of Elvia Aroyo-Lopez, 64, at her Santa Rosa, California, home, according to The Press Democrat.

He faces up to life in prison with the possibility of parole after striking a plea deal with prosecutors, the outlet reported, citing Aroyo-Lopez's public defender.

A motive in the slaying remains unclear.

Police responded to Elvia's home in November after a friend found her headless body, ran out of the house, and called 911.

"She kept yelling, 'no head,' and I wasn't sure what she meant," a neighbor identified only as Jessica said, according to CBS News.

Elvia's head was discovered next to a creek two days later – the same day police arrested her grandson at a transit center.

"She was a loving person and she adored so dearly all her grandchildren. She didn't deserve what was done to her," a GoFundMe campaign organized to defray funeral costs read.

Aroyo-Lopez previously served time for assault with a deadly weapon on someone else.

He will be sentenced June 27.
