It’s been another chaotic 24 hours in the Sunderland search for a new manager.
Sunderland remain on the lookout for their next manager, though the Black Cats appear to be no closer to finding a replacement for Michael Beale.
Kyril Louis-Dreyfus has irons in the fire but he’s yet to make his move. New names are now in the running, whilst other names have come in and quickly out of contention.
Here we round up all the latest news on the Sunderland manager front…
Will Still closing in on RC Lens job
Long-term Sunderland manager target Will Still appears to almost entirely out of the running to become the next Sunderland manager.
He had reportedly agreed to become the Black Cats’ next boss before Ligue 1 side RC Lens came calling.
On Thursday, RC Lens parted ways with Franck Haise, with reports almost immediately after claiming that Still and Lens are now in advanced negotiations.

Pascal Jensen a new contender for Sunderland manager
As Still’s links to the Stadium of Light died, Pascal Jansen’s were ignited; it’s said that the 51-year-old is of serious interest to those at Sunderland.
Former AZ Alkmaar boss Jansen is keen to manage in England following a four-year spell in the Eredivisie, though he also has interest from Greek giants Panathinaikos.
Stephen Robinson and Dave Challinor out of Sunderland running
On Thursday, it was claimed that Stockport County boss Dave Challinor, and St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson, were alongside Jansen as the final three contenders for the Sunderland job.
Challinor has rose to fame after taking Stockport County from the National League to League One in the space of a few years, whilst Robinson has guided St Mirren to their two best league finishes in nearly 40 years.
But reports have revealed that neither manager is in the running to replace Beale on Wearside this summer.

Liam Rosenior in Sunderland contention
One name who is now officially linked with the Sunderland job is former Hull City boss Liam Rosenior.
He was speculatively mentioned alongside the Sunderland job following his Hull City sacking in May, and journalist Michael Graham has now revealed that the 39-year-old Rosenior is under consideration at Sunderland.
Rosenior guided Hull to a 7th place finish in the Championship last season. Tigers owner Acun Ilicali sacked Rosenior because of differences over the style of play.
