Report: Man City would now sell their ‘superb’ player for £80m this summer

Manchester City have reportedly set a price tag for one of their star players who has been linked with a move away from the club recently.

The Citizens have waved goodbye to a lot of players over the past few years after selling them for significant transfer fees such as Gabriel Jesus, Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling.

Now that another summer transfer window is not far from opening, some behind-the-scenes information has come to light regarding how the Manchester club value one of their current stars who has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium recently.

According to a recent report from GIVEMESPORT, City have put a price tag of £80m on Julian Alvarez, after the likes of Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been mentioned with interest in the Argentine.

The striker, who saw his performance in City’s 3-1 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League back in September where he scored two goals, described as “superb” by Ally McCoist, has now completed two seasons with the Blues.

With 103 appearances across all competitions under his belt for Pep Guardiola’s side, the 24-year-old has scored 36 goals, delivered 18 assists and lifted numerous domestic and European trophies along the way.

City should forget about selling Alvarez this summer

In his latest Premier League campaign, Alvarez appeared in 36 games in total, seeing only three other outfield players rack up more top-flight minutes than him.

This showcases how much of a key figure he is for the team, especially since he’s been able to play across numerous attacking and midfield positions.

It also shows why he has attracted interest from some top clubs and why City value him so highly in terms of what they could be willing to sell him for.

However, we feel that the Blues should have no intention of cashing in on the World Cup winner this summer because of how important he is for the team and what he can offer in terms of goal contributions and versatility.
