Estonia to contribute additional €400,000 to Energy Support Fund for Ukraine

Estonia will transfer an additional 400,000 euros to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine. This will bring the country's total contribution to 450,000 euros, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Energy, besides contributions to the fund, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Estonia has provided Ukraine with 15 shipments of humanitarian energy assistance totaling 225 tons.

Among the provided equipment are two power transformers, over 100 current transformers, equipment for energy IT infrastructure, and more.

The ministry stated that the total amount of contributions from sponsors (transferred and declared) exceeds 495 million euros.

"The energy system of Ukraine is going through a challenging period. Therefore, the assistance from our partners to restore our energy facilities is very valuable to us," noted Ukrainian Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko.

Energy support fund for Ukraine

The Energy Support Fund for Ukraine was established through the joint initiative of Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson in spring 2022.

The total amount of contributions exceeds 495 million euros.

Recently, we reported that Iceland will contribute an additional 667,000 euros to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine.

Moreover, Germany will provide Ukraine with a grant of 45 million euros to restore the energy infrastructure after Russian attacks.
