4-star OT Ziyare Addison takes Oregon official visit

Addison is a major target for the Noles

The fourth leg of Tampa Sumner four-star offensive tackle Ziyare Addison‘s official visit schedule brings him up to Eugene for another trip to Oregon.

The Ducks made his top nine schools last month and are now getting another shot to make an in-person impression. This is Addison’s third visit to see Dan Lanning and Co. this year — despite campus being nearly 2,500 miles away from home.

UCLA, Georgia and Florida have already had Addison in for official visits. He’s set for an OV to Penn State next weekend and will then round out a busy June with another trip to Florida State. Competition continues to heat up for the 6-foot-4, 280-pounder.

“I’m looking forward to them (Oregon) going more in detail with the program,” Addison told Scoop Duck ahead of the visit. “I’m looking forward to going to the medical program, so I’m looking forward to seeing that part aspects the program.”

Each OV thus far has made an impact on Addison. Lanning, A’lique Terry and Co. will likely leave the same kind of mark on the blue-chip tackle. In the spring, Addison told On3’s Phillip Dukes that he was eyeing a mid-August commitment.

“You’ll be getting a kid that can play one through five that studies and loves the game. That doesn’t take the game for granted,” Addison said when asked what a school is getting if he commits. “I went through blood, sweat and tears to get where I’m at right now. Fun fact about me, I came as a defensive end and a tight end — I was only 190 pounds, not too sure if I was going to go to the military or play football.

Now I believe I am one of the best offensive line players if not the best offensive lineman in the country. Busting my butt, switching and trying to learn the position and now the upside is there because this is my third year playing offensive line, so the upside is there.”

Addison is the No. 179 overall prospect and No. 15 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 26 player in Florida.

Ducks gunning for another top-five class

After finishing the 2024 cycle with the No. 3 class in the nation, Lanning and his staff are on track to finish near the top of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings once more come this winter.

Seven prospects are currently committed to the Ducks. Headlining the class is Tampa Bay Tech five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson, the No. 26 overall prospect and No. 5 wideout in the cycle. He’s one of three blue-chip receivers in the class, alongside Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North four-star Isaiah Mozee and Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Prep four-star Cooper Perry.

San Diego Lincoln four-star quarterback pledge Akili Smith Jr. has continued to rise ahead of his senior season and is now a top-10 signal-caller and the No. 101 recruit overall. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star linebacker Nasir Wyatt is right behind Smith at No. 102 overall. Both are top-10 players in California.

Belleville (Ill.) Althoff Catholic four-star athlete Dierre Hill is a top-200 recruit and committed to the Ducks on May 10 as a top running back target. He and Concord (Calif.) De La Salle four-star defensive lineman Matthew Johnson round out the class — which currently ranks No. 8 in the nation.
