Kari Lake delivers Senate stump speech with Confederate flag in background: report

What may have been a routine stump stop for hemorrhaged into a controversy.

Lake was seen addressing supporters in a campaign event who packed into the Trumped Store in Show Low, Arizona, with a Confederate flag draped on the wall behind her, The Guardian reported.

“So many incredible patriots in Heber-Overgaard, Show Low and the White Mountains,” Lake said when she spoke at the shop, according to the outlet who observed the footage. “America is stepping up. Arizona is stepping forward. It’s time to save this great Republic. I’m honored to be in this fight with all of these amazing patriots.”

The video footage reportedly showed Lake peddling her contention that her 2022 gubernatorial race defeat to Democrat Katie Hobbs was a farce.

A photo posted on the Trumped Store site shows Lake mugging with a supporter with the Confederate flag clearly hung on the wall.

Also, the store sells the flag for $20 on its website.

A supporter told Lake she deserved to be the true governor because she actually won and Lake responded: “Of course we did. They stole our government.”

Much of her speech appeared to have leaned on her suspicion that fraud was running rampant in America's elections.

“I’m the only person running for U.S. Senate – either Republican or Democrat – who truly believes there was fraud in the election in 2020,” she stated, to widespread applause. “Anybody believe there wasn’t fraud in 2020? Anybody believe Joe Biden really, truly got 81 million votes?”

When reached by The Guardian, a Lake spokesperson replied: “The Kari Lake campaign does not respond to British propaganda outlets. We stopped doing that in 1776.”

Lake has been proclaiming victory and even sought to take her protest to the courts suggesting the voting machines were hacked.

However, those efforts have continually found her case to be full of innuendo.

And yet, at the Trumped Store event, the Guardian confirmed she would press forward with and appeal in the voting machines case, which she confirmed on Friday.

“We’re trying to get rid of these damn machines that are corrupt,” Lake informed supporters.
