A “moment of madness” caused a 26-year-old to key her neighbour’s car after a disagreement.
Kiana Senter found herself in Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday after doing so, where she admitted causing criminal damage to property.
The court heard from prosecutor Holly Postle, who said that on October 3 last year, Senter scraped numerous key marks into the side of her neighbour’s Volkswagen Transporter van on Elm Road, Upper Marham, causing around £300 worth of damage.
A victim impact statement was provided by the neighbour, who said that they “didn’t have anything to worry about” until Senter moved in next door.
The statement read: “I now hate being in my own home. I have put it up for sale.”
The statement also said that the neighbour has been signed off sick from work due to the stress and anxiety the incident has caused them.
In mitigation, solicitor George Sorrell said: “Both the defendant and the victim are living in unhappy circumstances.
“Nothing is worse in life than being unhappy with your neighbour.
“The defendant is due to move house soon - she won’t be living there any longer.
“It was the wrong thing to do - it was a moment of madness.”
Senter was ordered to pay £300 in compensation to the neighbour.
