Bihar: Two police constables injured in encounter with wanted criminals in Madhubani

Madhubani (Bihar) [India], June 8 (ANI): Two police constables were seriously injured in an encounter with three wanted criminals in Bihar's Madhubani district on Friday evening, officials said.

According to police, the encounter broke out between the police team and criminals in Jayanagar area at around 8.00 pm.

Officials of Jaynagar police station received a tip-off about three wanted criminals heading to Dullipati via Jaynagar.

Following the information, a police team launched an operation to nab the wanted criminals.

At Narar Training Chowk, the wanted criminals were spotted, and when the police team asked them to surrender, they instead opened fire at the police personnel.

Two police constables sustained bullet wounds during the exchange, identified as constables Mahmood Alam and Rahul Kumar.

They were immediately rushed to the local sub-divisional hospital for treatment and were further referred to Cribs Hospital in Madhubani for better treatment.

The injured constables are reported to be out of danger, said officials.

Meanwhile, Jayanagar Police have launched a hunt to trace and apprehend the accused criminals involved in the incident. (ANI)
