Russia attacks Ukraine with missiles and drones: Air defense response

On the night of June 8, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine with drones and a missile. The air defense managed to shoot down most of the UAVs and the Kh-59, according to the Telegram channel of Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.

On the night of June 8, the enemy attacked Ukraine with a guided Kh-59 missile from Russia's Kursk region and launched 13 Shahed-131/136 attack drones from the Kursk region and Cape Chauda (Crimea).

"As a result of the combat operations by the mobile fire teams of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the electronic warfare systems of the Air Force, nine Shahed drones and one Kh-59 were shot down in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk regions," Oleshchuk reported.

Situation on the front

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian invaders continue to search for weak spots in the Ukrainian defense, conducting continuous assault operations. Preliminary reports indicate that the aggressor's losses in this direction amounted to nearly 200 personnel.

Additionally, from the beginning of June 7 until the evening, 65 combat clashes were recorded on the front. In the second half of the day, Russia intensified its actions in the Kharkiv direction.
