Former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi expresses confidence in stability of BJP-led NDA govt

Patna (Bihar) [India], June 8 (ANI): Hindustan Aawam Morcha (HAM) leader and Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Jeetam Ram Manjhi has expressed confidence in the stability and longevity in the upcoming Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government.

He also slammed the opposition alliance for misleading the public on the issue of reservation and the constitution.

In an interview with ANI, the former CM of Bihar said, "One who treads on the difficult path has a speciality to reach his destination, not the one who treads on an easier path. This scenario matches exactly with the third term of Narendra Modi Ji. Initially, it was Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, who reigned for the third consecutive term as Prime Minister. After 62 years, this day has come again for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he will complete his full term."

"The opposition is iterating that BJP and Narendra Modi haven't garnered a majority in the 2024 elections but he had the majority in the last two terms. Despite of the majority, he gave respectful ministries to his allies and I believe, he will again choose them for respectful ministries. PM Modi will again listen to them and this is how this government will flourish," he asserted.

Manjhi said that PV Narasimha Rao was able to run a minority government for five years while PM Modi and the NDA had 303 seats in the house.

"I want to convey that Prime Minister Narsimha Rao with a minority has run the government for consecutive 5 years. But here Modi Ji has numbers of 302-303 seats and they have a majority government. PM Modi has commenced his journey to make India developed by making it the world's largest economy by 2047 on the occasion of 100 years of independence," he said.

He further added, "To achieve resolution of 'Vikshit Bharat' and PM Modi will need to step ahead with a lot of efforts and support of his allies."

Responding to the questions about government formation and assigning of ministries, Manjhi mentioned, "Currently, a lot of meetings are going on in series. I met various leaders, including JP Nadda. Since I am not in that core group where discussion on ministries and ministers is held, I have zero knowledge about it."

On questions about TDP's chief Chandrababu Naidu and JDU's Nitish Kumar, Manjhi said, "Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar are continuously reiterating their support to NDA. They will stand with NDA and support the government. I have personally met Chandrababu Naidu Ji and he is a very calm person. He will extend his support to NDA only."

"Our NDA government will reign for five years and develop India in new ways. In this regime only, we will make India the world's third-largest economy. All of us have come to support the resolution of developed India (Vikshit Bharat) and there is no question of 'ifs' or 'buts' and if in case, if someone tries to deceive, then the country's public will never forgive them," he added.

Speaking on Nitish Kumar, Manjhi said, "Nitish Ji is one of the great leaders who has been leading Bihar constantly. Nitish Ji will extend his support on whatever terms Narendra Modi Ji will seek. I wish him the best for the future.

Manjo slammed the opposition accusing them of being directionless and having misled the people that the BJP-led NDA would change the constitution.

"The opposition is directionless and has no agenda. They have constantly misled the public based on false allegations about reservation and the Constitution. Congress and the opposition have played misleading tactics and to some extent, they succeeded," he said

"If the Modi government wanted to change the constitution, they could have done it, as they had a resounding majority in their first and second term, but they didn't amend the constitution on such a basis. Although, they amended it, but for obvious reasons of abrogating articles such as 370 and 35A. The opposition with their baseless and false allegations has just misled the public. They had neither any established leaders nor an agenda. It will take time for the Congress to re-establish their lost glory," Manjho added.

On Friday, PM-designate Narendra Modi met the President after a meeting of leaders of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, who elected him as the leader. Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and other members of the new council of ministers will take oath in a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 9.

Earlier on Friday, the President appointed Narendra Modi to the office of Prime Minister of India. The President requested him to advise her about the names of other persons to be appointed members of the Union Council of Ministers and indicate the date and time of the swearing-in-ceremony to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

An NDA delegation also called on the President and a letter stating that Narendra Modi had been elected leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party was handed over to her.

The BJP-led NDA won a third successive term in office under the leadership of PM Modi in the Lok Sabha elections. (ANI)
