Report: Liverpool to blow West Ham out the water in race to sign South American 'new Di Maria'

Dario Osario is one of the most exciting young talents on the planet right now, but Liverpool could beat West Ham United to his signature unfortunately.

New Liverpool boss Arne Slot is eyeing up a big attacking revamp at Anfield this summer, and West Ham target Dario Osorio is thought to be firmly in the Dutchman’s crosshairs.

The Hammers actually tried to sign the young forward last summer, before he moved to Danish side FC Midtjylland instead.

West Ham were prepared to pay just £5.5 million for Osorio, and with Liverpool now ready to pay nearly double that, it looks like we’ll be blown out the water in the race for the Chile international’s signature.

With Julen Lopetegui keen to bolster his forward line, and with Tim Steidten’s South American connections, it would be no surprise to see the Hammers move in for Osorio this summer.

The 20-year-old winger would be a stunning addition to Lopetegui’s ranks, and he’s exactly the kind of exciting young signing the Spaniard should be looking to make.

However, Liverpool chief Michael Edwards is apparently about to scupper one of West Ham’s summer plans…

Liverpool to blow West Ham out the water in Dario Osorio race

It’s seemingly bad news for the Hammers this summer.

That’s because La Tercera are claiming that Liverpool are prepared to offer £8 million for the 20-year-old Chilean winger.

The young South American, who can play on either wing or in the number 10 position, has already bagged eight goals and two assists in 24 games for Midtjylland, since he joined them from Universidad de Chile last year (Transfermarkt).

Football Talent Scout have described the young Chilean as a flamboyant winger and compared him to Argentinian legend Angel Di Maria.

He is still very rough around the edges and will need to bulk up if he is to succeed in the Premier League, but he’s more than capable of doing that if he puts in the hard work.

The Chilean has pace in abundance, tremendous skill and his playing style is quintessentially South American what with his aggressive and tenacious approach to the game.

Liverpool will clearly stand a better chance of signing Dario Osorio than West Ham this summer, and that’s a real shame as far as I’m concerned.
