Kim Kardashian was warned to be “more realistic” by her former publicist. At the beginning of her career, she had one main goal. When she told them what she wanted, they were not convinced.
From reality TV fame to setting up her own businesses, such as SKIMS, Kim Kardashian is certainly one to “get up and work.” While The Kardashians star has a lot of confidence in herself, her former publicist did not.
Kim set out to achieve one main goal
Kim’s main goal was to be a magazine cover model, she explained of when her former publicist asked her about her dreams. “So, she asked me one time when I was in her office like, ‘Well, what’s your goal?'”
She continued during the Variety interview, “‘Like, where do you see yourself?’ And I was like, I don’t know, but there was like a Cosmo magazine,” which she set out to be her dream.
Kim, who has had two publicists over the span of her career, revealed one of them “always told her to be more realistic about her goals.” She felt they “just didn’t believe in her.”
The Hulu star said, “It was at the beginning. And I just said, ‘I don’t know, I’d love to be on a magazine like that.’ She just stopped me and said, ‘No no no, we need some more realistic goals.'”
Kim admits she believed that publicist for a short while until she grew in confidence and finally figured out what she wanted to do. She “just changed” but now wants the team she works with “for a lifetime.”
Kim has gone on to do multiple photoshoots – such as Cosmopolitan in August 2011 – as well as studied law, become the Queen of reality TV, and launched her own businesses.
Kim ‘loves consistency of same people’
Kim admitted she “loves the consistency of working with the same people” but she also “enjoys whatever the vision is for that photographer” when she poses for a photoshoot.
Aside from when she’s working on style pieces for her own businesses, Kim allows herself to “trust” in the photographer’s style and wants to help them by showing “a different version of herself.”
“Because I have worked with my glam teams for so long, having their energy around when you’re uncomfortable doing something, trying something new, they’ll be honest with you,” Kim added.
