Delhi: 22-year-old dies by suicide in Israel Colony area

New Delhi [India], June 8 (ANI): A 22-year-old man died by suicide at his residence in the Israel Colony neighborhood, Rangpuri Pahari area in Delhi, police said.

The deceased was identified as Anas Ahmed, a resident of Israel Camp near Doctor Sardar, Rangpuri Pahari area in Delhi.

Sharing details about the case, police said, "On June 7, 2024, at about 6:00 PM a PCR call was received at PS VK South regarding a male person hanging in Israel Camp, Rangpuri Pahari, Delhi."

After having reached the spot, a male person identified as Anas was found hanging from the ceiling pipe inside his jhuggi (slum), which was latched from inside.

As per the police, the deceased used to work as a butcher in Israel Camp and had not been to work since yesterday and was not picking up calls, after which his employer Danish came to see him and found him hanging.

The deceased is survived by his mother and two younger siblings.

His mother had gone to her brother-in-law's house in Seemapuri with the siblings of the deceased, at the time of the incident.

Police said that the statements of his mother, uncle, and employer were recorded who did not suspect any foul play.

Further, he was taken down and the crime team was called to the spot.

"No bodily injuries were found. After the inspection of SOC, he was taken to SJH where he was declared dead and his body was shifted to SJH Mortuary. Proceedings u/s 174 CrPC are being carried out," said the police.

Further investigation is underway. (ANI)
