Braden Montgomery injury: Texas A&M star placed in air cast after collision at the plate

Texas A&M and Oregon got off to a dramatic start in their super regional series, with both clubs scoring runs in the very first inning.

However, for A&M, there was another development which was not so positive. When trying to slide and score at home, Aggie star player Braden Montgomery was thrown out and then came up injured on the play.

He appeared to hurt his ankle and was eventually taken off the field in an air cast, which you can see in this video below:

An awful-looking scene for Montgomery, one of the premeir players left in the NCAA Tournament; a superstar leader of the No. 3 overall seed and a likely future first round pick in the upcoming MLB Draft. As bad as it looks, this injury likely drastically impacts both A&M’s tournament run and Montgomery’s draft stock.
