Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 8

Since the beginning of June 8, 76 combat engagements have already taken place at the front. Russians attacked Ukrainian territory with 52 UAVs and 481 kamikaze drones, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, Russians fired more than 2,800 times at Ukrainian positions and populated areas using various types of weapons, but the Ukrainian military continues to repel the occupiers' offensive.

Situation on the frontlines

In the Kharkiv direction, four enemy attacks have been repelled since the beginning of the day in the areas of Lyptsi, Hlyboke and Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, eight attacks were repelled in the vicinity of Synkivka, Pishchane, Andriivka, Hrekivka and Makiivka. The situation is tense as the battle near Nevske continues. Defense forces are taking measures to stabilize the situation.

Today the enemy lost 87 people in killed and wounded in this sector. Ukrainian troops also destroyed an armored combat vehicle, a car and an enemy anti-tank missile system.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy tried to advance seven times in the directions of Nevske, Terny, Ivanivka, Torske and Dibrova. Six attacks were repelled, the battle in the area of Ivanivka is ongoing. The situation is under control, no Ukrainian positions were lost.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped three enemy attempts to displace our troops in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske and Andriivka. At the same time, the situation near Ivanivske remains tense, as the battle continues.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our group repelled 27 occupants' attacks. Twenty Russian assault attempts in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Sokol, Novopokrovske, Novoselivka Persha and Yasnobrodivka were repelled. Seven more enemy attacks continue.

The situation in this sector is tense, the General Staff emphasizes. In particular, the invaders continue to try to break through from Ocheretyne to Yevhenivka and Novooleksandrivka. Defense forces are taking measures to prevent the enemy from advancing deep into Ukrainian territory.

Strikes on Russian positions

According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian military is inflicting fire damage, depleting the enemy along the entire line of contact.

Thus, aviation, missile and artillery units today struck 21 areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment, a command post, four air defense facilities, an electronic warfare station and three radar stations.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russians had failed to implement their offensive in the Kharkiv region.
