Company Behind Rudy's New Coffee Roastery Is In Bankruptcy: Report

Like Rudy Giuliani himelf, the company he is working with for his new venture into the coffee roastery business is in bankruptcy amid its own brewing legal and financial woes.

According to a report from the Daily Beast, Rudy Coffee is partnered with Burke Brands, which is known for its Don Pablo coffee.

Further investigation into the address associated with Giuliani's coffee business reveals another roastery that sells its products in very similar packaging and is available at Walmart, Target, and other major retailers.

Soon after the video was posted, news of the deal reached the courtroom, and five days later, attorneys for the mayor's creditors subpoenaed Burke Brands for details.

Four days after that, they filed documents that included the agreement between Giuliani and the roastery.

The agreement revealed that "Giuliani will receive 80% of the net profit from each sale of Rudy Coffee," with funds directed to a Missouri-based bank account for Giuliani Communications LLC.

The Daily Beast also discovered Burke Brands had recently entered a new filing in its own more than a year old bankruptcy case.

An attorney for Burke Brands maintains that both his client and Giuliani being in Chapter 11 bankruptcy- were "completely coincidental."

A spokesman for Rudy Coffee stated that bags of Guililiani's coffee are already "flying off the shelves."

As for Burke Brands, the association between the company and the ex-mayor could reportedly be beneficial for future prospects.

"Maybe some of the mayor's past success will rub off on them," political strategist Ted Goodman told CNN.
