Former Kentucky Wildcats are spread all throughout the NBA. In total, 28 one-time ‘Cats ended the 2023-24 regular season on an NBA roster — the most of any college in the country. So it won’t come as a surprise to know that former Kentucky players have scored more points during the 2024 NBA Playoffs than any other school.

According to Andrew Weatherman, Kentucky alums have accumulated 1,831 points throughout the postseason, which includes Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Notably, that’s nearly 600 more points than the next-closest school, Duke, which has 1,251 total points. Villanova is third with 885 points, Gonzaga fourth with 558, and Georgia fifth with 538.

Kentucky has just one former player currently in the NBA Finals, PJ Washington of the Dallas Mavericks, while Duke still has two high-level scorers in Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics and Kyrie Irving of the Mavericks, along with rookie center Dereck Lively, also of the Mavs.

That being said, it’s unlikely those three will score enough points in the series to catch up with the Wildcats.

13 different former Wildcats have scored at least one point in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, including a pair of 300-point scorers.

TOTAL: 1,831 points

Washington will look to add to his total in Game 2 of the 2024 NBA Finals, which is scheduled for Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. EST on ABC. The Celtics took Game 1 of the series in convincing fashion, winning 107-89. Washington posted 14 points and eight rebounds in the losing effort. He’s averaging 13.7 points per contest during the postseason for Dallas.
