Kentucky Proud Park was filled to the brim on a perfect night for baseball in Lexington. Among those in attendance? Oscar Tshiebwe and plenty of current Kentucky men’s basketball players.

Over half of the 12 scholarship players for the upcoming 2024-25 Kentucky roster were spotted at KPP on Saturday night. The Kentucky MBB social media account posted a picture featuring Brandon Garrison, Collin Chandler, Andrew Carr, Otega Oweh, Kerr Kriisa, and Ansley Almonor. The flick also included a pair of walk-ons from last season’s team, Grant Darbyshire and Walker Horn, indicating those two could be back for their junior years.

Additionally, KSR photographer Aaron Perkins spotted Tshiebwe, now with the NBA’s Indiana Pacers, roaming the stadium and meeting with fans. Tshiebwe played at Kentucky from 2021-23, winning National Player of the Year in 2022 and becoming an all-time fan favorite along the way. The Big O was inarguably the greatest rebounder in school history and that has translated nicely to the professional ranks so far.

But now that his rookie season is in the books, he made it back to Lexington to cheer on the Bat Cats. Hanging out with Tshiebwe were a handful of other incoming Wildcats for the 2024-25 season such as Trent Noah, Koby Brea, and Lamont Butler.

As of the time this post went up, Kentucky was leading Oregon State convincingly 10-0 going into the bottom of the eighth inning. If they’re able to hold onto the win, the Bat Cats will be just one more victory away from advancing to the program’s first-ever Men’s College World Series.

UPDATE: Kentucky beat Oregon State 10-0. Game two of the three-game series will begin on Sunday night at 9:00 p.m. EST
