For those who missed the fanfare when Ghostbusters: Afterlife hit cinemas in late 2021, this direct sequel to Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989) was co-written and directed by Juno director Jason Reitman, who is also the son of the original franchise creator, Ivan Reitman.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, as well as series stalwarts Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver.
The blockbuster follows a single mother and her two kids who move to an Oklahoma farm they inherited from her estranged father Egon Spengler. The family soon start to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.
The film was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Special Visual Effects.
