Liverpool are on the lookout for new players and a name who has been mentioned more than once in the past is again being linked with a move to Anfield.
The Reds are looking for new signings this summer as they look to help Arne Slot out in the transfer market.
With Michael Edwards back involved with things, there is an expectation that new signings will be well thought out and add value both short and long-term for the Reds.
And according to reports from Italy, Liverpool could now sign a long-term target for less than £30m.
Liverpool could land Federico Chiesa for just £26m
According to TuttoJuve, who cite Italian media outlet Gazzetta dell Sport, Chiesa is potentially on the move from Juventus this summer.
The Italian forward has been linked with a move to England and Liverpool for some time now and it’s suggested that the Reds could finally get their man.
TuttoJuve claims that Chiesa could now be available for as little as £26m and that the idea of either Liverpool or Manchester United signing him cannot be ruled out.
Chiesa was one of the stars of the show for Italy when they won Euro 2020 but the last year at Juventus has seen things become a touch more strained.
Liverpool, of course, are in the market for a wide forward and it remains to be seen if Chiesa is someone they’ll consider looking at again.
Chiesa plays just like Luis Suarez
Lauded by the Italian media as a ‘superstar‘ player, Chiesa is very much someone who has the attributes to succeed in England.
The forward has electric pace and a tenacity about him that on paper, Liverpool fans would love.
Indeed, that tenacity has drawn comparisons from Joe Cole with a certain Luis Suarez.
“The biggest attribute he’s got is he plays with a humility. He’s hustling and bustling like a young Luis Suarez character. He can make something out of nothing,” he said, as reported by Metro.
“Every club in Europe will want a slice of him when he becomes available.”
Chiesa, then, could well be someone Liverpool finally decide to pull the trigger on.
