Four Group C players England must watch out for at Euro 2024 include Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target - Opinion

England face Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia in Group C at Euro 2024, and all three have danger men that the Three Lions must watch out for.

Gareth Southgate’s side, who went unbeaten in qualifying, are fully expected to top the group, but it will not be as easy as you might think.

TBR Football take a look at four players who could cause England trouble in the group stage.

England fans will know Aleksandar Mitrovic from his time at Fulham, where he spent almost six years.

The striker set the Championship record for goals in a season (43) in 2021-22 and his 14 Premier League goals in the following campaign ensured safety for the Cottagers.

And, his international record is even more superb, having scored 58 times in 91 appearances for Serbia at a remarkable rate of 0.75 goals per 90 minutes.

Mitrovic also netted 28 times in 28 games for Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League this season, so England’s defenders must keep a close eye on him.

The second of Serbia’s danger men, Dusan Vlahovic is expected to partner Mitrovic up front against England on June 16.

While Vlahovic’s international goal record, 13 goals in 27 games, is not comparable to his striker partner’s, Southgate’s side must not overlook him.

The 24-year-old scored 18 times in all competitions for Juventus this season and, like Mitrovic, his physicality makes him difficult for defenders to deal with.

Rasmus Hojlund (Denmark)

Rasmus Hojlund endured a difficult start to life at Manchester United after making the £64 million move from now-Europa League champions Atalanta last summer.

However, the 21-year-old improved drastically as the season progressed, and ended with a more than respectable 16 goals in all competitions.

Having beaten Scandinavian rivals Sweden (2-1) and Norway (3-1) in the past week, Denmark head into Euro 2024 in good form and will create chances for the United striker.

Benjamin Sesko (Slovenia)

Slovenia’s main man, Benjamin Sesko, has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal or Chelsea.

The 21-year-old, who netted 14 goals for RB Leipzig in the 2023-24 Bundesliga campaign, is arguably the most in-demand striker on the transfer market.

Though, while he could be moving to England before the window shuts, his full attention will be on helping Slovenia upset the likes of England at Euro 2024.

With a unique blend of pace, power and technique, Sesko certainly has the attributes to trouble the Three Lions’ defence in Cologne later this month.
