Ukrainian President Voloydmyr Zelensky says his country is working on another agreement with Germany to provide support to his country in the wake of the full-scale Russian invasion launched more than two years ago.

"We are preparing new agreements for Ukraine with European partners, in particular with Germany, on additional support measures," Zelensky said in his daily video address published on Sunday evening.

He did not provide details on the nature of a potential deal.

Kiev was also "meticulously preparing a bilateral security agreement between our country and the United States," the Ukrainian president added.

Zelensky had already announced at the end of April that Kiev and Washington were working on a bilateral security agreement, as part of his ongoing efforts to ensure his war-torn country receives long-term support.

The United States has been Ukraine's most important ally as it confronts invading Russian forces in the south and east of the country, as well as near nightly aerial bombardments.

Ukraine has also forged bilateral security pacts with Britain, Germany and France.

The agreements envisage the prospect of financial and military aid for the coming years.

No country has yet given security guarantees. The agreement with the US is expected to change that.
