John Coggles has died at the age of 67 - his family have paid tribute to his courage and dedication.

“After a long and courageous battle with a terrible illness, the end came much sooner than we could have ever expected.

“Dad was incredibly strong and dedicated throughout everything, continuing his role within the family business that he loved so much. Working behind the scenes until four days before his passing.

“He served as a funeral director for over 45 years, helping the bereaved and the loved ones left behind.

“We know that Dad meant so much to so many of you. Your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time are greatly appreciated.

John, who was married to Joanne, and had four children David, Helen, George, and Hannah.

David, Helen, and George have followed in his footsteps and continue the family legacy. The business, which was established in 1851, will carry on with a wonderful heritage and a strong future.

The family said: “AJ Coggles is so much more than a business. It’s a family, and we are incredibly grateful to dad for all his love, support, and guidance, which has shaped us all into the people we all are today.

Even at our most difficult time, as a family, we will continue to be here to support you and your family in your time of need.

“Details about Dad’s funeral service will be shared as soon as possible for those who wish to join us in remembering and celebrating his life.

With love and gratitude.”
