Tampa (Fla.) Sumner four-star offensive tackle Ziyare Addison has committed to Oregon, he tells On3’s Hayes’ Fawcett.

Addison chose the Ducks over Florida State, Florida, Penn State and more than 20 other reported offers.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pounder is the No. 179 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 15 offensive tackle and the No. 27 prospect in the Sunshine State.

He visited the Ducks over the weekend, following an official visit to Florida, but chose to come off the board in favor of Dan Lanning and Co. A key factor in his recruitment — and his decision — is offensive line coach A’lique Terry, who he’s built a strong relationship with over the past couple years.

“I feel like Coach Terry can develop, even as a young coach,” he told ScoopDuck’s Max Torres. “He’s been up for the Joe Moore award for the last year or two. I want to be under a coach that’s been up for the Joe Moore award his first two years as O-Line coach. He’s only 29 years old as well so I believe he’ll be there for forever. Them moving to the Big Ten, they’re gonna competing for a national championship this year. There’s a lot of upside with Oregon, Penei Sewell went there as well.”

Oregon had been recruiting him as long as any program, with the year-plus relationship now culminating in a commitment.

“Oregon, they’ve been recruiting me since I was a sophomore,” Addison told Torres. “I was around 250-255ish when they offered me. They took an opportunity on me real early, earlier than everybody else. I have a great relationship with (A’lique) Terry, Coach Coby (Sayyah) and of course Coach (Dan) Lanning, those my guys up there.”

Ducks add to a top-10 recruiting class

Addison is the latest addition to Oregon’s 2025 class, which features eight commitments and ranks No. 8 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Tampa Bay Tech five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson headlines the class for Oregon, ranking No. 22 in the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s joined by San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln four-star quarterback Akili Smith Jr., Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star linebacker Nasir Wyatt among the top-150 nationally.

Smith, the son of former Ducks star and NFL top-5 pick Akili Smith, has been the class’s centerpiece since his commitment and a vocal recruiter.

“It means the world to me to be committed to Oregon,” he told On3. “It has always been my dream to be a Duck. Since I have been able to walk, my dad has had me in Oregon stuff, I have watched a lot of Oregon games and this is a dream coming true. I get to carry on my dad’s legacy, start my own legacy and at the same time play for a great program like Oregon and push for my dreams to reach the NFL.”

Of the Ducks’ eight pledges, all rank among the top-300 nationally as blue-chip recruits.
