Downham Market Community Choir sings at town’s D-Day celebrations outside St Edmund’s Church

A town’s community choir sang at a D-Day ceremony in honour of those who served.

Downham Market Community Choir performed in front of a large crowd as the town’s beacon was lit for war veterans on Thursday, June 6.

Mayor Charlie Pyatt, cadets and dozens of residents gathered outside St Edmunds Church where the group sang White Cliffs of Dover, Wonderful World, Grateful by Ali Burns, and If I Had My Way.

The beacon was then lit at dusk and the national anthem was sung.

Downham Market Community Choir is always welcoming new members to rehearse at the Methodist Church Hall on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm.
