Mikel Arteta now knows exactly how much Arsenal will have to pay to re-sign Wojciech Szczesny

Arsenal have now been made aware of the price tag that Juventus have put on goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Arsenal will need to make additions between the sticks this summer.

There is likely to be plenty of activity within the Arsenal goalkeeper department at the Emirates Stadium over the course of the summer transfer window.

Aaron Ramsdale is expected to leave Arsenal. This will leave Mikel Arteta in need of a new back up option for David Raya.

On top of that, there is a chance that current third-choice ‘keeper Karl Hein could leave the club, and Arsenal are still yet to pay the £27 million required to make Raya’s move to North London permanent.

There is clearly plenty of work for Arteta to do in this department, and a number of names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. Brighton and Hove Albion shot-stopper Jason Steele has been mooted as a potential target, whilst Wojciech Szczesny has also been linked with a surprise return to North London.

Arsenal learn Wojciech Szczesny price tag

Szczesny began his senior career at the Emirates Stadium, and made almost 200 appearances for the Gunners, winning two FA Cups, before leaving the club on a permanent basis to join Juventus in 2017.

The 81-cap Poland international has enjoyed a successful stint in Italy, winning three Serie A titles, amongst other honours. However, he now looks set to leave the Turin-based giants.

Whilst Saudi Arabia represents a potential destination for Szczesny, a return to Arsenal is also possible.

However, in order to secure the services of the 34-year-old, the Gunners will have to shell out a fee in the region of £5 million, as reported by TuttoJuve.

Would Wojciech Szczesny be open to Arsenal return?

Of course, there is still a chance that Szczesny may not want to come back to Arsenal. After all, he would almost certainly be a firm second-choice pick behind Raya. He may still feel that he has plenty left to offer as a No. 1.

Despite this, Szczesny is a popular figure with Arsenal fans, and would be warmly welcomed back to the Emirates Stadium. His arrival would be exciting, and he would bring plenty of valuable experience to the dressing room.

Arsenal now face a potential dearth of experience in their squad. Arteta could seek to address that issue with the capture of Szczesny this summer.
