'I think': Steve McManaman now shares who will win the Premier League next season - Man City or Arsenal

Steve McManaman has predicted whether Manchester City or Arsenal will win the Premier League next season.

It is safe to say that it is far too early to make any title predictions, with the summer transfer window yet to even open.

However, it seems like City and Arsenal are the two favourites for the title once again, unless another team ends up springing a surprise.

McManaman predicts who’ll win the Premier League next season: City or Arsenal

Gilberto Silva has suggested that Arsenal will beat Manchester City to the title in the 2024/2025 campaign.

However, Shaka Hislop confidently claimed that City would win their fifth title in a row.

On TNT Sports, Steve McManaman was asked: “Arsenal looked heartbroken to come so close for a second season in a row. Next season, how do you think they will get one up over Manchester City?”

Steve McManaman replied by stating that in his view, Arsenal will be unable to trounce Manchester City in the title fight next season.

The pundit said: “I don’t think they will. I think Manchester City will continue to be ahead of Arsenal. I think Arsenal have improved a lot but there’s still a couple of pieces missing and they need to rectify that.”

“From now till September when the season starts and the transfer window closes, that’s when we’ll realise how serious Arsenal are going to take it, if they’re going to spend money, see what signings they’re going to bring in.”

The two-time Champions League winner added: “There’s talk about them bringing in a number nine in, which I think they need. And then we’ll see what calibre they are and if they’re good enough to take on Manchester City because of course, Liverpool with their new manager will invest heavily in the summer and it will get very intriguing again.”

Man City could be even better next season

In our view, it is difficult to disagree with Steve McManaman about Manchester City, who have beaten Arsenal to the title in the last two seasons.

Additionally, the Gunners had a golden opportunity to win the league last season — especially as many would argue that they played the most convincing brand of football in the country throughout the campaign.

Manchester City were often huffing and puffing as it may have seemed like the hurdle of becoming the first English team to win four successive titles was far too much of a challenge for them to conquer.

Next season, City will be determined to improve as a team and eradicate the sense of jeopardy around their title hopes that existed for much of last season.

In this respect, Pep Guardiola’s men could strive to improve even further next season, which could spell trouble for Arsenal’s title dreams.
