Trump in danger of losing liquor licenses now that he's a convicted felon: Forbes

Donald Trump's for business fraud may cost him more than his freedom with valuable liquor licenses he owns at his luxury golf courses under review.

Now that the former president has been convicted on 34 felony counts related to hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, Trump is learning the hard way that his travel could be restricted and he may now that he has a criminal record.

According to a new report from Forbes, Trump is most at risk of having his liquor licenses pulled in New Jersey, which features three golf courses including his signature Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, as well as Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia and Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck.

According to the report, the State of New Jersey has initiated the review of the Trump properties, with Forbes' Zach Everson writing, "Trump is the sole order of three golf courses in New Jersey that have active liquor licenses, according to the Division of Alcoholic beverages Control. New Jersey law prohibits issuing a liquor license to anyone who has been convicted of a crime 'involving moral turpitude.' A state handbook explains that these sorts of crimes typically involve 'dishonesty, fraud or depravity' severe enough to typically be punished by more than one year in prison."

The report adds that several other states where Trump owns property that have similar laws on the books, but have workarounds that allow him to keep his licenses.

However, Forbes is reporting, "... representatives of alcohol authorities in New York, Virginia, Illinois and North Carolina told Forbes that Trump is not a current licensee in their states. After Forbes pointed out that Trump, through a series of entities, is the sole owner of nine businesses with liquor licenses in those locations, some representatives said they would look into the matter. "
