Katie Holmes is passing down her impeccable style to her daughter, Suri Cruise.

During her decades in the industry, the Dawson's Creek alum, 45, has become one of Hollywood's most fashionable actresses, with a highly enviable wardrobe. Lucky for her 18-year-old, Holmes has been keeping some of her most fabulous pieces for later in life.

"I’ve saved some things here and there. But she has her own sense of style and her own expressions," the star revealed in a recent interview of Suri, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise.

When asked if her kiddo is already stealing things from her closet, the First Daughter actress added, "Sometimes the basics definitely disappear. But that’s fine."

Katie also looked back on how her aesthetic has evolved since Suri was young. "When my child was really small, I was drawn to wearing a lot of dresses. You do go through these different phases of motherhood, and they inform what you feel comfortable in and what you don’t. So, over the years my style has changed here and there," she revealed.

The proud mama has always championed her offspring to be her own person. "My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident and able. And to know it," Katie noted in a 2020 interview.

"She came out very strong — she's always been a strong personality. She'll pick an activity and work her butt off until she's really good at it," she continued. "Then she's like, ‘OK, I'm going to try the next thing.’ She's very focused and a hard worker."

The All My Sons actress also emphasized how she fully understood that growing into the person you are meant to become is a process. "People say you don't really know yourself until you're 40. I have seen things. I have experienced things. I know what I'm talking about, and I know that my feelings and my insights are worthy," Katie added. "I'm going to listen to myself instead of deferring to someone else. That's a big step as a human. It takes time."

No matter what, the former teen star will be there for the young adult every step of the way. "I think the basics are important: the number one thing is making sure my child feels loved,” Katie said in a 2014 interview. “[I want her to feel] good about herself. And then what she does and who she is, is special and important and should be celebrated. And my mom always said, ‘No one loves you like your mother.’”
