The father of missing teen Sebastian Rogers has ordered a private investigator to stop looking for his son more than three months after he mysteriously vanished from his bedroom.

Sebastian, a 15-year-old with autism, was last seen the night of Feb. 25, at the Hendersonville, Tennessee, home he shared with his mother, Katie Proudfoot, and his stepfather, Chris Proudfoot, authorities said.

In April, Sebastian's biological dad, Seth Rogers, hired two private investigators to look into the case after local authorities couldn't locate his son.

Rogers is now demanding a PI stop searching for the teen.

In a cease-and-desist letter obtained by former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer, Rogers' attorney Tara Carter directed an investigator – referred to only as "Ms. Smith" – to stop "any and all activity of dissemination of information" related to Sebastian's disappearance.

The letter accuses Smith of "engaging in such behavior without his (Rogers') express written or oral consent" and threatens to pursue legal action if she does not stop.

The cease-and-desist, dated May 29, was issued more than a week after Rogers said he'd like his son's case to be turned over to the FBI.

The father has been critical of the Sumner County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's failure to locate Sebastian.

"I don't sense a state of urgency from them; it's not their kid, it's mine," Rogers said, according to WKRN-TV. "You know, this is a child of Sumner County."

"I tell people when you see something, say something, and then they turn around and they tell me that they see something and they never get a response. They call the sheriff's department, and a lady called me, she got my number, she was like, 'I waited over four hours and nobody showed up,'" he said.

Anyone with information on Sebastian's whereabouts is urged to contact the Sumner County Sheriff's Office at 615-451-3838 or TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
