One of South Carolina’s multiple silent commitments from over the weekend has been revealed.

Roswell (Ga.) three-star EDGE rusher Kobby Sakyi-Prah announced a commitment to the Gamecocks Monday afternoon after visiting the program for his official visit.

Sakyi-Prah chose South Carolina over finalists Mississippi State and Georgia Tech.

“Honestly, I had a great time at campus. It was amazing,” Sakyi-Prah said. “I love the coaches. I love how they interact with the players and everything, especially Coach Beamer… (and) the city — I love it. It’s really nice. There’s always something to do. You’re never going to get bored.”

Sakyi-Prah said he sat down with Beamer and his defensive staff about where he may fit into South Carolina’s lineup.

“They see me playing as an EDGE when I get there. And, so, when I get here, they’re going to show me how to do it and everything,” Sakyi-Prah said. “They said they would use me kind of like as an EDGE or like a Jack. And I’m bouncing back and forth when I get here.”

The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder also spent time with freshman linebacker Wendell Gregory, who served as his player host for the weekend.

“It was good catching up with him again because I’ve known him for a couple years now — honestly, since middle school. And, so, he came here, and I was like, ‘I want him to host me,'” Sakyi-Prah said. “Honestly, he said he loves this place. He said he enjoys it a lot. And, so, I might come here and join him. You never know.”
