Charles Barkley drops F-bomb during Stanley Cup Finals interview

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Charles Barkley delivered the f-bomb while being interviewed during the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday night. The NBA legend and analyst was speaking to Sportsnet about the game and accidentally used profanity on live TV.

“[The Edmonton Oilers] played great in Game 1,” Barkley began. But they didn’t win. [Sergei] Bobrovsky was f****** amazing. Oops, sorry. I’m sorry. He was freaking amazing. I apologize to y’all kids at home. But the Oilers have been amazing. I picked them from the start of the playoffs. But the [Florida] Panthers are amazing.”

Barkley was interviewed between the second and third period of Game 2, and the Panthers went on to win 4-1. The Panthers are looking to win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history, while the Oilers are looking to win their sixth Stanley Cup and first since the 1989-90 season.

Charles Barkley sounds off on ESPN’s coverage of Dan Hurley

Barkley has time to enjoy the Stanley Cup Finals since TNT has wrapped up NBA playoff coverage. ABC is airing the NBA Finals, and ESPN personalities are helping with the coverage. Before the start of the Finals, ESPN spent its time covering UConn men’s basketball coach Dan Hurley possibly being the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers (Hurley turned down the offer). That didn’t sit well with Barkley.

“I was so mad at ESPN yesterday,” Barkley told Dan Dakich of OutKick. “I love Danny Hurley, this has nothing to do with Danny Hurley. And good luck with him if he goes to the Lakers. But I was so pissed. With Game 1 of the Finals and Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals coming on, for them to spend the first hour talking about ‘What if Danny Hurley goes to the Lakers?’

“I was so pissed yesterday, I had to turn my TV off… This is how stupid they are. Y’all got the Stanley Cup Finals and the NBA Finals and y’all talking about a team that’s irrelevant. And I’m like, whoever’s doing their programming has got to be the stupidest, most boneheaded people in the world. If he goes, we’ll talk about it. But to just go in there and blow air for an hour and then say, ‘Oh, by the way, we got Game 1 of the Finals coming up tonight.’ I was like, who the hell is running their programming over there?… You got those games as a network. And you spent the whole time talking about ‘What if Danny Hurley goes to the Lakers?’”
