TV star's 'complicated and unpredictable' life plays out after leaving 'toxic' show

Denise Richards’ fans can get excited because the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is making an official return to TV. No, she’s not set to appear alongside Dorit Kemsley and co this time. Charlie Sheen’s ex is starring in her very own show, according to E!.

When it comes to reality TV shows, it looks like there aren’t very many stars who get through their time on-screen without some level of toxicity coming their way – from The Real Housewives of New Jersey to Big Brother, Vanderpump Rules to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Former RHOBH star Denise Richards is walking proof that the toxic vibes can become too much.

Denise Richards left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Four years ago, Denise waved goodbye to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

She appeared on the show as a full-time cast member for seasons 9 and 10. Denise had also guest starred on the Bravo series back in season 5 and again briefly in season 13.

Back in 2020, the mom-of-three’s time on the show came to an end after she endured feuds with almost all her RHOBH co-stars.

Speaking exclusively to Variety last year, Denise said the dynamics became unhealthy:

“When I left after my second season, I just felt as though some of the women were very toxic and they played so dirty… I understand there has to be drama, but I also think it’s fun to see women having fun, especially this age group.”

RHOBH alum is back on TV

On June 10, E! reports Denise is making a TV comeback.

She’s not making another upside-down-jacket appearance on RHOBH, but she’s landed her very own show.

The Bravolebrity is no stranger to being in the spotlight, even before Real Housewives.

She had her own show, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated, back in 2008.

Now, she and her family are set to star in the new E! docu-series Denise Richards and the Wild Things (working title).

Denise is set to star alongside her kids, Sami Sheen, 20, Lola Sheen, 19, and Eloise, 12, as well as her husband, Aaron Phypers.

Speaking of her time filming her own show in the past, Denise told E!: “I loved doing that show… This is the perfect partnership for our family’s series as our lives are full of fun, love, and unpredictability, and we can’t wait for the audience to share this adventure with us.”

Although during her former reality TV days, she was navigating her split from Charlie Sheen, she says: “This time around, life is more complicated and unpredictable.”

E! reports fans have some time to wait for the all-new series, however, writing: “The series will premiere in 2025.”
